One of the amazingly cool things about Lincoln, California is the Del Webb Retirement Community called Sun City and Sun City Lincoln Hills.  All of these retired people bring not only their wealth and knowledge but their spirit of adventure as well.  They may have grown old but they didn’t grow up. 🙂

So the end of summer is nigh.  It rained yesterday and today there was snow on the tops of the Sierra mountains. Haplo and Kethry were playing outside, Kethry was writing a song called Zombies Get off my lawn. Haplo was annoying her and commenting on the smell of the neighbor’s bbq……

My town holds the 4th celebrations at the park in the center of downtown called McBean Park. It is a truly amazing park and is the pride of the city.

The $5 for a red solo cup of shaved ice was offset by the free attractions for kids. Haplo and Kethry are in the green cart.

Bounce houses. Enough said.  But the heat seemed to keep people home.

But the trees in the park will always be my favorite part! Redwood complete with Fairy Ring. 🙂

Taking time to onbserve and admire the blooming flowers.

So Kethry asked me to go to the park.  So we walked to the park and they played on the playground as the sun began to set.

Haplo decided he did not want to cooperate with picture taking. I caught him doing the zombie. Kethry as always tried her best to be photogenic.

The trees in this park are amazing. Since it is spring there is all manner of tree sex going on.

There is this really coll tree in the park. The perfect place to take some pictures. Makes me want a digital SLR..

Spring is in full swing and natuee is having lots of sex.  Seriously though, sometimes you just have to take a moment and enjoy nature and smell the flowers.

Saw these on the way home. The diversity of flowers and plants here is amazing.

I saw these two dogs leaving the park. They looked like walking teddy bears.

Today I had to pick Kethry up from school and it made me sad and angry at the same time but she was a trooper through it all. She gets that from me.

Today markes the start of Spring Break and last week on Tueaday was the Equinox that marks the period of time in the orbit of earth around the sun where our axis of rotation in relation to the sun makes the day and night cyclea equal. Thia happens twice each year marking the beginning and end of winter. The autumnal equinox an in the vernal equinox. These two datea have direct implications on our planet and the floral and fauna on it. If you are in to astrology Kethry and I share the same birthday and therefore we are both Pisces in European Astrology. We are Roosters or Cocks in Chinese Astrology. Take it with a grain of salt much like that idiot that does crossing over. What utter bullcrap. So I spent the day driving around with Kethry and now we are at her weekly martial arta class. I cannot remember how to spell the name correctly. She is so adorable packed with charm and charisma and personality.

She really likes to have her picture taken because I always tell her she is beautiful and show her the pictures.

My Town

In December of 2007, I moved to Lincoln, California.  My in-laws had previously moved to Sun City, Lincoln, a Del Webb Retirement community.  This is taken at the top of the Foothill that the community sits on and in front of.  This is the town where I live.

To truly see how impressive this view is, you need to click the picture and load the entire picture in to your browser and then scroll and look at it.  This was taken at about 6:30 – 7:00 PM as the sun was beginning to set.

So my wife was riding her bike this morning and discovered the obvious remains of road kill and brought it home to use for a craft project:

It seems that Lincoln has quite a few wild Peacocks running around all over along with chickens and turkeys.  We would be ok for food for a while via hunting here. Smile

So spiders give me the chills, literally even daddy long legs.  I have learned to suppress it with a warped fascination with spiders.  The problem is by ignoring them they take over and bolder competition moves in.  This is the second one of these jumping spiders I have seen in my house.

The first time I saw him he was like 5 feet away from me in the garage hanging out.  These are called Jumping Spiders for a reasons.  Yes it is breed profiling and it works.  They can fracking jump.  Fast.  And Far. And I almost shit my pants.  Note:  Don’t poke them with a hemp twig.  Even a three foot one because it didn’t hesitate.

Now he I have seen him surveying my desk and I am a bit weirded out by this thing.  It’s huge.  No, seriously.  Don’t believe me?  Look at this:

It’s furry and dusty and just, oh frack it gives me the willies.  It’s furry, what the hell was nature thinking trying to make it all fuzzy and cute.  Cute my ass, it can jump three feet.

Ok, does that help with size?  Notice the alien green mandibles?  Look at those fracking eyes.  Rule the world this thing could.  Still not convinced?

Oh yeah, that really gives me the fracking willies.  That is some creepy stuff.  It’s beautiful isn’t it?
